Grace Is GOD'S Charity!
Grace is God's gift of charity to His creation. The definition of Grace in the bible is found in 1 Corinthians 13:1-13.
Grace is called Charity, which is known as Agape Love which in turn is God’s plan for creation.
Grace, his plan, suffers our rebellion throughout the ages.
Grace, his plan, is kind to humankind even though we have turned to other deities to love.
Grace, his plan, is not selfish.
Grace, his plan, does not boast or boast about itself.
The plan of His grace is a Godly plan.
His plan, Grace, is not self-serving.
His plan, Grace, assumes no evil in anyone.
Grace, his plan, abhors iniquity, but loves the truth.
Grace is optimistic about everything. Grace understands everything.
God's plan for all things, grace, hope for the future.
His plan, grace, endures in all things.
Grace, his plan, never fails mankind in any way.
Grace, his plan, is forever, as faith and hope are forever. But, the most impressive of these three is Grace.
Grace, his plan, is first extended to each of us when God forgives us of our past sins.
Forgiveness was given by God according to the abundance of His infinite charity for mankind.
Grace, his plan, was given to us through God’s wisdom and his keen mental discernment and sound judgment.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
The Way of Charity
1Co 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1Co 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1Co 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
1Co 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1Co 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there beprophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1Co 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Ephesians 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
2 Thessalonians 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
2 Thessalonians 2:17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Romans 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him whichbelieveth in Jesus.
Ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Ephesians 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Grace, his plan, can be multiplied in us. At that precise time, God's divine power gave us all things that pertain to life and godliness.
2 Peter lets us know exactly what Grace is and how it works and continues to work through God's Divine Nature.
2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
By God's Divine power (grace), he has given us abundant and precious promises (through the knowledge of Jesus), by which we can be partakers of God's Divine nature, becoming overcomers.
2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Verse 5 continues on to explain that we are to add to these promises. That we can add virtue, and knowledge.
2 Peter 1:5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
Verse 6 adds Temperance, patience, and godliness.
2 Peter 1:6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
Verse 7 says to include brotherly kindness and charity.
2 Peter 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
The reasoning is outlined in verse 8 as to why these add on to the promises. Since they multiply or double grace, and warn that if you do not extend grace through works, you will become barren and fruitless.
2 Peter 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Verse 9 tells us what happens to those who have received grace and promises that do not add these additions to their lives. This verse also confirms that grace is given for past sins and not extended to upcoming sins.
2 Peter 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
As we are reminded in verse 10, grace will not cover us if we do not add our faith, our calling, and our election to our lives. When we neglect our faith, our calling, and our election, we can lose the grace we once obtained through God's power.
2 Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
Verse 11 gives us our reason for the additions and ends this part of Peter's passage with hope by stating "for so" meaning "because if you do add these things and don't neglect them" you will have an entrance into the everlasting Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
